Merry Christmas!!
Its been a while since i visited this place. Not sure what kept me away from blogging, i suppose laziness. Since the time i have come back to India, life has changed so much for me, most important would be my _health_. I look a lot better, gained good weight, yes found my self a _job_ . Well all this is not important.
Here is what i wish to share, for the first time i volunteered at FOSS.IN, it was an experience of a kind. I am there again next year. Here are a few snaps...
A few talks that i managed to attend in bits and pieces were,
- Talloc : power of c by Russty
- Bring your own hammer - I have the nails ! by Sankarshan Mukhopadhyay
- How to Contribute to GNOME as an Artist or Designer by Mairin Duffy
- ZeroConf Networking with Avahi by Lennart Poettering
- Clutter: Fun with opengl interfaces by Shreyas Srinivasan
- The challenges and opportunities of properly writing multi-threaded GTK based GNOME programs by Andrew Cowie
- Using OpenEmbedded to power Open Devices by Holger Hans Peter Freyther
- The State of SELinux by James Morris
- Hacking the Fox by Myk Melez
- User to hacker in 90 minutes: the tools and techniques needed to actually contribute to Open Source by Andrew Cowie
If you missed this year, get the slides from the Foss.in site, and most important, make sure you make it to the event the coming year.
Being at the event is great, you get to meet the people who are involved, get to talk, share the experience, its just wonderful. Additionally, i did get to meet the _team foss.in_. Overall, great conference.
